Promoting Social Inclusion among the Black-African and Minority Ethnic (BME) group across Surrey

Be My Hope seeks to better the livelihoods of the African BME Community. It was founded after the realization that individuals from the BME group lack access to a service that understand diversity and challenges experienced by this specific group. In response to this, Be My Hope seeks to empower the BME community through a service that provides emotional support in difficult times, information, and resources on financial or housing issues, peer groups and more.

“The reason why you need emotional support is because it's important for survivors to be heard. To be understood. To be able to express yourself without fearing criticism or harsh judgement. To be validated for your pain, suffering, and loss. For others to be there for you to encourage you, especially if you're having a bad day or feeling triggered.”
